# How does Roup work

The Roup mainly utilizes the BRC201 cross-chain protocol developed by Map Protocol to assist BRC20 assets in achieving traceable cross-chain capabilities, and those assets can also be implemented and expanded with new tokennomies on the MAPO L2 playground.
